[Preparing dinner on the first evening
(close to Chokdo)]

We are preparing dinner on the first evening, close to Chokdo. This scene is quite likely when Wolfram (right) discovered that I (left) had, without a thought, cooked a whole pack of 500gr of noodles instead of the calculated 300gr. Wolfram, the most experienced long-distance hiker, had defined our daily allowances per person:

Breakfast: tea, 10-12 tablespoons of cereal (oatmeal, nuts, dried fruit) with 3 tablespoons of milk powder (and water, of course)
Lunch and in between: a handful of biscuits and dried fruits, 5 tablespoons of Tsampa with a spicy dip or some flat bread (from 5 tablespoons of flour, some water and salt, baked the evening before or in the morning on a thin, flat stone on the camping stove)
Dinner: tea, 100gr of rice or noodles with instant sauce, a small chocolate and/or other special niceties, like custard.

We had some basic stuff like salt, pepper, garlic, chili peppers, Garam Masala, vegetable stock to make cooking more interesting. Also, we had various small extra goodies for special occasions, which helped a lot to keep the spirits.

I would have expected to eat my companions after a few days hiking on this regime, but it turned out to be good. It seems most of my normal eating is done because food is lying around and I don't have anything else to do.
